Klaw Poké

  • The Task

We were approached by the guys at Klaw, Dublin’s renowned Crabshack eatery, to help design and develop the newest addition to their family – a new restaurant called Poké.

  • The Idea

Their vision was to create a contemporary cool space for this trendy new food offering (a raw seafood salad) through the use of clever interior design and original use of materials in this confined city centre space

  • Our Approach

While we needed to carefully consider the interior of the original Klaw outlet in Temple Bar, Nineyards also thought it was important for the newest venture to have a unique identity of its own. Our brief included the joinery and bar construction, as well as the complete fit out.

Natural materials, limewashed woods and exposed bricks with pops of colour in furniture and loose fittings – elements which are connected to the brand of Crabshack, edgy and industrial with an influence of coastal vibes.  We also overcame several layout challenges – the small space and trying to squeeze in 25 seats including a bar area, oyster shucking area and full kitchen and wash up.

While remaining faithful to the relaxed, casual vibe synonymous with Klaw, we managed to create a distinctive space that could stand on its own. Initial design time was two months with an on-site fit out of only three weeks from start to finish.

  • The Impact

A space that truly represented the essence of the brand positioning.
